Very fine leaved, decorative and compact bamboo. Keep out of wind and sun! Place it between other dense evergreens or protect it during the winter with a reed mat. The young culms have a beautiful blue bloom. May freeze to the ground in a harsh winter but will recover.

This bamboo is similar to F. murielae. Many clones abound as seed was distributed 10 years ago. Is not dependably hardy and not the prettiest bamboo, either.

This bamboo was introduced to Europe as seedlings, some forms have red culms especially on sandy soil. At least 12 numbered clones exist. Nr. 1 grows very compact and is extremely suited to small gardens. Stands a sunny spot well, with better colouration of the culms.
'Genf' is a very good selection also.

A bamboo with paper-like white sheathblades and shining, olive-green leaves and culms. The shoots which appear early have to be protected agains late frosts. Various selctions exist: "Campbell" (original introduction)and "Robusta" (with big leaves) are the best ones. One of the best and most beautiful Fargesias.

A good low Fargesia , which is becoming well known due to intensive propogation by tissue culture, which may induce unnatural flowering. A spectacle of colour in the spring as the red sheaths become visible. Our plants are guaranteed not from tissueculture.
